My name is Megan (Yardley) Hallgren, and I live in Milford, Michigan with my husband, daughter, son, and 2 rescue dogs.
I first became interested in speech-language pathology when I was 16 years old. My grandfather had a stroke, and worked with a speech therapist to help regain his ability to swallow and communicate. I found this work to be fascinating! It was then that I knew this was the profession that would be my career.
I graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Speech-Language Pathology from Texas Christian University in Fort Worth, Texas. I then moved north, and in 2007, received my Master of Arts degree in Speech-Language Pathology from Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan. I began working in a hospital setting in Acute Care, Inpatient Rehab, and Outpatient Rehab. I worked with both children and adults in the outpatient setting. I also worked with adults in Extended Care Facilities, and provided private therapy to children in home settings. In 2014, I began working with elementary and middle school-aged children in a public school setting, and I continue to work with children of all ages.
With over a decade of experience working will multiple ages and disorders, I am now offering private, personalized, and exceptional speech-therapy services. I am certified by the American Speech-Language and Hearing Association which is the governing body for speech-language pathologists and audiologists. I am also licensed to practice Speech-Language Pathology in the state of Michigan.
I absolutely love my chosen field. I love working with children, and would be honored to be entrusted with the communication needs of your child. I pledge to give my best to every child and family with whom I am fortunate enough to have in my care.
